IT Competence Centre

In April 2011, the Information and Communication Technology Competence Center (IT KC) started operating in the state support program “Competence Centers”, which will conduct industrial research and experimental development in the fields of natural language technology and business process analysis.

The state support program “Centers of Competence” is designed to stimulate the conduct of applied research and promote mutual cooperation between industry companies and research institutions for the development of innovative products and technologies, thereby promoting the increase of companies’ competitiveness. The state support program will operate in Latvia in the field of information and communication technology and five other sectors competence centers: chemical and pharmaceutical, forest, environment, biotechnology and bioenergy, electronics, as well as mechanical engineering.

The founders and members of the IT Competence Center are the companies of the industry: Institute of Biomechanics and Physical Research, Computer Institute DIVI, Computer Science Center, Dynamic Research, FMS Software, Kurzeme Computer Center, Lattelecom Technology, OptimEyz, RIX Technologies, Tilde, as well as scientific partners – University of Latvia, Riga Technical University and Ventspils University.
